ESD019 | ATTAHey! I really enjoyed your set, what’s your name as a DJ?
- Hey :) Thank you, it’s ATTA!
Sweet, thanks. And what’s your name as a human? :D
- Haha - my name is Jofi.
Nice to meet you Jofi!
Looooong overdue visit as I couldn't attend 3 or 4 of their parties and several friends of mine joining their jams on boats or at iconic underground locations.
Finally made it, first time at groovetherapy, second time at Mena - straight behind Bulbul.
I just arrived and got welcomed outside with a dominantly sparkling energy of Misha and her girls putting up some final touches of posters and banners, but the party was already properly running for some time.
What a warm welcome that was - inside, my ears snatched a glimpse of fat funky grooves at the top floor, but first we checked out downstairs as Prosekko Papi was heating up the basement. At this moment I already felt like part of the family, more and more familiar faces were surrounding me - I was very content being there.
One question was still running trhough my head - what was going on upstairs? I was too curious whether the previous vibe is still on!
I went up and made myself comfortable in the back of the dance floor. The tunes were still funkin’ it up. Proper bouncy basslines combined with seducing melodies - what a lovely setting to close your eyes and enjoy.
But my eyes were open - I was mesmerised by the perfect visual play supporting the music - or the other way around, not sure.
ATTA was embodying the frequencies behind the decks combining freshness, class, and a good sprinkle of cheekiness while transitioning into a Michael Jackson song - I was overwhelmed. For quite some time I didn’t experience someone creating such a confident and individual style of atmosphere on the dance floor.
ATTA is a personified sparkle to me - holding strong bond to the crowd and passion to what she’s creating, I am looking forward to experiencing more of such performances by her and today I am incredibly happy to share some of her magic in our mixtape series - have a listen and you will understand what I was talking about. Don’t miss out on a chance to see her playing live!
Thank you for doing what you do, Atta!
And thank you for being who you are, Jofi!
